Get your business involved
As well as personally registering for the Plastic Free July Challenge there are many ways to get your business involved to reduce unnecessary plastic.
Step 1: Register
Step 2: Participate
There are loads of ways your business can participate in Plastic Free July. Some big, some little, but all voluntary and fun!! Here are some of our ideas - but feel free to get creative.
Host a nude food lunch - or a plastic free morning tea!
Organise a "nude food" lunch day at the office or why not do a plastic free morning tea? Encourage staff to bring a plate / or their lunch using no single-use plastic. Direct them to our Toolbox for plastic free cooking ideas and recipes. We've also got an A-Z of Alternatives.
Host a movie screening
There are heaps of amazing movies and documentaries out there on the issue of plastic waste. We've included links to some of our favourites in the Toolbox.
Run a "wash-up" station
Run a wash-up station for cups, plates and utensils to encourage people not to opt for the easy throw away container lunch. Get the CEO to run the station and watch how many people take it up!
Run a nude food workshop
Do any of your staff have waste free skills they could share? You might be surprised at the response by just asking the question. Our Toolbox has lots of ideas and recipes to inspire.
Get everyone involved
If there is someone who purchases tea and coffee for the office, see if they can purchase items without excessive plastic packaging.
Start a coffee cup library
If you have staff who make regular runs for coffee, start a library of reusable coffee cups that staff can take each time they do a coffee run.
Conduct a bin audit
See just how much single-use plastic your business has been using. Visit our Toolbox for details and templates for conducting a bin audit. You could take a photo of the plastic in your bin or even count/weigh if you are keen. Take on the Plastic Free July Challenge and compare the difference.
Participate in/ Run a Two Hands Project clean up
Organise a Two Hands Project clean up with your colleagues. Check out out Toolbox for how it works.
