Every day, 2.25 billion takeaway cups of coffee are consumed around the world.
The good news? It’s so easy to change by remembering to bring a reusable cup. We started Bring one, get one tree in Perth's western suburbs to encourage people to bring a reusable cup for their takeaway coffee. It's a double bonus for the environment. Not only will you save a cup and lid from being thrown 'away' (most end up in landfill) but you will be helping to revegetate the local environment!

For every takeaway coffee sold in a reusable cup  at a participating café during July we'll plant a local native plant in the region...actually, our partners from the Friends of Mosman Park Bushland, Cottesloe Coastcare, Friends of Lake Claremont and the City of Subiaco will do it for you! This initiative was developed after we won the Waste Authority of WA's Infinity Award.

Previously Participating Cafes
Claremont: Asado, Cookie Dough Cafe, Bay Rd Pantry, Lake Espresso, Davies Ground, The Lane Cafe, Lemon Lane, Monsi's Cafe, New Norcia Bakery Cafe, Primary Coffee @ Mt Claremont Farmers Market, Xarcuteria
Cottesloe: Baker St, Daisies of Cottesloe, John St Café, Nature's Harvest
Mosman Park: Coffee Rescue,  Art's Cafe, Good Things Cafe, Gustav's, Mosman Park Supa IGA, The Leaky Tap
Peppermint Grove: Cappucino by the River, My Health Market
Subiaco: Excelsior Deli, JuJu juice bar, Louis Baxter, Bishop & Clove, Karibu, Brew-Ha, WIRF Cafe at KEMH, Cafe Cafe, Cafe Melagrano, Cafeina on Hay, Mr Nelson's Sandwich Shop, The Grind on Hay, Whisk Creamery

Resources
While this project only funds trees for cafés in the WMRC region of Perth, Western Australia each July it is available for use by other organisations who want to run the initiative and provide the tree! The initiative was run by the Vic. Park Collective in Perth, Western Australia and also the Non-Plastic Maori in New Zealand. Resources for use in the WMRC are shared below for download. For graphics to use in other geographical areas please contact us by email and we'd love to chat! We also highly recommend the reusable cup initiative Responsible Cafes, its free for any cafe to participate so check it out now.

If you want to purchase reusable cups for your café or to use at home there are a great variety on the market including Onya, Uppercup, Joco and KeepCups. If you are a cafe contact these companies sales teams to see if they offer wholesale pricing for purchases of cups.  Just for the record, at least in WA, Health Department regulations do allow cafes to serve takeaway coffees in reusable cups, they just must show a duty of care not to cross contaminate so make sure your clean your cup before you go!
